Cochrane Commuter Service
Interim Regional Service
Dear On-It Cochrane Commuter Passengers:
Due to the continued COVID-19 work from home guidelines, demand for our commuter service is not yet at a level where we can resume. The Town of Cochrane and Southland Transportation will continue to assess demand for the service on a monthly basis, and the Interim Regional Service will resume once the demand for the service is high enough to make the service viable.
In the meantime, the Town and Southland will continue to work on the local COLT and regional On-It service integration. The integration is planned to have four local fixed schedule COLT routes, and an enhanced On-It regional service that would take people to/from Calgary on the following regional routes:
- Cochrane Transit Hub (360 Railway St. W.) to Brentwood LRT Station/UofC
- Cochrane Transit Hub to SAIT and Downtown Calgary
- Cochrane Transit Hub to Foothills Hospital and –Downtown Calgary
- Potential summer route to Banff
An official launch date for this integrated service has been postponed due to COVID-19. We will be reaching out to the community for feedback in 2021.
